Nail care at home

There are some tips that you should follow to get healthy and strong nails, the most important of which are:

Make time for your nails

Set aside time at least every week to take care of your nails and do a quick pedicure and manicure. Start by cutting or filing your nails, then run a cotton ball soaked in vitamin E or E oil over it and on the skin around it. After that, paint your nails with a moisturizing cream to get rid of the dead skin accumulated on them, then apply a layer of nail hardener to get healthy and strong nails.

Trim your nails

Trim your nails regularly to keep them strong and prevent them from breaking easily, so make sure to use the file in the right way, taking into account that you file the nails in one direction, and avoid filing in two different directions. Avoid filing wet nails as much as possible, because they are more likely to break in this case than when they are dry, and it is best to keep your nails short to prevent bacteria from accumulating under them.

Keep your body hydrated

Keep your body hydrated by not neglecting to eat water, and in addition to water, drinking a glass of milk - which contains zinc - helps you get stronger nails.

Do not use nail polish remover that contains acetone

If you are a fan of using nail polish products, when buying nail polish remover, look for types that contain acetate and are acetone-free, so as not to harm the health of your nails and lead to brittleness.

Choose a food that contains iron or omega 3

Eat food that contains iron and omega-3 fats, both of which are good for your overall health and beauty. Iron has an effective role in giving your hair vitality, rejuvenating skin cells and strengthening your nails, and you can get it through whole grains, and some types of leafy vegetables such as spinach. As for the foods that contain omega-3, they are seafood, nuts and vegetable oils, which prevent cracking of the nails, as well as their multiple benefits for the rest of the body, such as preventing heart disease.

Get balanced amounts of protein

Eat proteins in balanced quantities in your diet, because your nails are layers of keratin proteins that form nail cells and tissues, so when a lack of protein in your meals negatively affects the health and appearance of your nails. If you want good health for your nails, make white meat, dairy products, and soy a staple in your diet.

Wear gloves when doing housework

Wear gloves when you do housework so as not to protect your nails and not get broken. Do not use your nails as a tool for scraping or cleaning things, as this weakens and thins them, making them vulnerable to breakage and wear quickly.
